In my work as a coach, a few times, I’ve had people come to me to share they want to explore BDSM.
Sometimes this desire to explore is even the catalyst for a couple to open up.
What happens is one partner is really interested in kink and power dynamics and the other one either isn’t interested OR isn’t interested in the way the first partner wants them to be.
For example, one wants to play Dom and so does the other. Neither is super interested in being submissive.
In this case, it makes sense to find someone who truly enjoys being your sub.
But this isn’t always so simple to navigate, right? There’s potential for hurt feelings, objectification, pain (and not always the good kind.)
So how can we explore safely and protect the people involved in the process?
What are the benefits and drawback of being in this type of dynamic?
